In this course, we will go over all the main tools you will use on your birding journey and how to use them. From choosing your first pair of binoculars and their proper use, how a field guide is layed out and what apps to get.

Documenting Your Journey

Many birders like to document their birding journey one way or another as well as keep track of what species they have seen, and where. This course goes over how to start and keep a life list as well as documenting birds you’ve seen or heard through photography, recording audio and field sketching.

Birding 101

Before you get birding, there are several things that are helpful to know before you start your birding journey. Knowing how and where to find birds, ethics and etiquette, are all important topics covered in this course.
